What I Have Learned about Primates

What I Have Learned about Primates.

Primates are very similar to humans in their behavior and genes. They are able to communicate and even to use a sign language. Mother- infant bond is very strong and primates care about their babies feeding, comforting, teaching and just loving them. Apes give a good example of pseudo pregnancy and males experience hormonal changes before and especially after the birth of an infant. Male primates are obsessed with passing on their DNA and can even kill other infants if it is going to favor their interests. Primates have an absolute brain size which corresponds in size to their body size, however they are much more intelligent than other animals. Apes have culture and they are also toolmakers just like humans. Ape’s and human babies get their character and other characteristics needed to copy with life from their parents. If the teaching is absent they have psychological and social problems. Apes are very impressive and unique creatures. They show love, grief, anger and other feelings which for me is pretty obvious. However they live in their world of rules and we are not supposed to judge them because our rules are different. I think that they deserve much more in this world than they have, they are smart, able to feel emotions, and just gorgeous creatures that should be cared about and protected. I do not think that humans should be raised above other creatures. Because other creatures are just not like us, they are different, they are not Homo sapiens, and however they are as much unique and stunning as we are.
